Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills and dispositions relevant to the utilization and management of technologies to support teaching and learning.
With this instructional design project I worked to design a high-quality and technology-rich learning experience for a specific group of teachers. I conducted a two hour collaboration session that enabled each set of grade level math teachers at Whittemore Park Middle School (WPM) to utilize Edulastic to create a combination of multiple choice, short answer, matching, and or open ended questions that each grade level math team can use for a common assessment of each mathematical unit. Edulastic is a great digital assessment tool that offers technology enhanced assessment options. This project gave me a great opportunity to apply my knowledge of technology and teaching models to design a strategic and purposeful digital learning session. Teachers were able to leave with a product that they could use in their classrooms. (EDIT 700 Principles of Instructional Design)
Through this tutorial assignment I was able to decipher between digital resources and make informed decisions about how they could be used in an instructional setting. With digital resources you must dig deeper than the surface to estimate if the resource is sufficient. In this video I created an overview of Edpuzzle, which is a digital tool used to create interactive video lessons that can easily be integrated into a LMS. I was able to aid my colleagues in trying his tools out in their classroom. (EIT 710 Instructional Technology Tools)
Instructional Design
Apply principles of instructional design, multimedia design and learning theory to develop instructional materials, strategies, systems and assessments that leverage instructional technologies to improve learner performance.
Before and After Images

There are many components of Graphic Design other than making images appealing. Through this course I had to redesign images based on specific focuses. Each Before & After graphic image has a clear noticeable change that makes the digital items stand out and flow. With graphic design you want the message to be clear. Poor graphic design can often distract the viewer and cause miscommunication. These Before and After assignments were a major part of my Graphic Design in Instruction class. The focuses of typography/color, visual hierarchy, and unity/grouping all play key roles in making digital images clear and inviting. (EDIT 744 Graphic Design for Instruction)
I was able to create this video as part of my Product Design and Development class. All aspects learned in Graphic Design class were applied when needed. This animated video that I created through “PowToon” allowed me to reach my audience on a higher and deeper level. This can be viewed and uploaded on many platforms. Mayers 12 Principles of Multimedia Learning helped me to build a great resource that I can share. (EDIT 740 Product Design & Development)
Digital Culture
Apply understanding of societal issues of evolving digital culture to promote legal and ethical practices relevant to the integration of technology in teaching and learning.
This was a project I put together for my EDIT 778 Seminar class. It was an amazing opportunity building learning modules for my audience. These learning objectives stemmed from teaching during the current Coronavirus Pandemic. The world has overtaken the digital education realm since many countries have lockdowns/ mandatory closing of schools, public places, offices, etc. With creating these modules I had to take into account the many components that embody digital learning. Many schools went digital for months because they were able to provide devices to all students. Some districts did not have that luxury. Many students have devices, but no internet access. All of these components are described in detail through the modules in my “Pandemic Teaching” Instructional Module.
I created this video in EDIT 604. This video describes the digital divide in currently being experienced in the education system. It brings light to many gaps that are widening and issues that need to be brought to the forefront of conversation.
Leadership
Demonstrate leadership to plan, implement and manage the integration of technology to promote positive transformational change in an instructional setting.
The Current Conditions Report that I created helped me to get a true understanding of where my organization is at in terms of the ISTE NETS Standard. To obtain my data I utilized in person interviews with students, teachers, and parents along with brief surveys. The information collected pertained to my schools infrastructure, climate, use of instructional technology, and school culture. This assignment shed light onto the many components of decision making in instructional technology initiatives. (EDIT 760 Instructional Technology Leadership)
I created this instructional video as part of my EDIT 770 Field Experience in Instructional Technology. This field experience was conducted at my current school with some of my colleagues. My participants completed a google form and I also conducted JIT interviews to gather information on what areas of concern teachers were having (in respect to Pandemic Teaching) so I could develop a plan to showcase digital tools that would help them. I was tasked with hosting instructional sessions introducing digital tool items that would aid participants in the areas of concerns they noted in the google form/JIT interview. This was a great opportunity for me to showcase my leadership in developing and implementing an instructional plan with the integration of technology to promote positive and transformational change.
Practice and Performance
Evaluate the impact of technology integration and professional development on instructional practice and learner performance.
It was an eye opening experience creating this Dynamic Instructional Design Project. The goal was to design a technology rich and engaging experience for my students. It was started through investigating student background, interest, and learning styles. With this I started the plan of creating/finding effective technology tools to incorporate into my current unit. The module I created was a huge success with my students. I have shared this experience with my colleagues and have opened the doors to any questions or help that my colleagues/peers may need in implementing such process. (EDIT 704 Technology in Curricula)
