Part 3 “Select Strategies and Resources”

Blended Learning Model Selection

The blended learning model that I chose to utilize to address the previous stated standards is the “Rotation Model” more specifically “Station Rotations”.  Each student will have the opportunity to rotate through each station.  Each station is about 20 minutes long (60-minute class period).

Students will in a sense be able to be in the driver seat of their learning for the day.  Having rotations allows for more differentiation in my instruction.  All resources are readily available.  Each student has their own chromebook 1:1.

Station Rotations

  • Edpuzzle:  Students will login to Edpuzzle and watch “Quadrants & Plotting” instructional video.  The instructional video is on how to plot/read points on the coordinate plane and determining which quadrants the ordered pairs lie in.  Questions are embedded throughout the video for comprehension check.  This will give immediate feedback to students.
  • Teacher led small group:  Teacher will give directions on how to practice plotting/reading coordinates and determining quadrants with a partner through the game of “Coordinates Battleship”.  After instruction students will be able to play the game with their partners.  This allows for interaction, educational competition, mixing gaming and education and collaboration with students.
  • Khan Academy:  Students will login to Khan Academy and watch an instructional video on how to find the distance between two points on the same x or y axis.  After the video students will have to complete two module that will yield immediate feedback.
